The boy looks at the steaming bowl and suddenly something incredible happens: he falls into the soup and magically finds himself swimming in the ocean, where he meets a shark. Shark are fish whose very name is enough to trigger universal fear. It makes you think of a threatening fin breaking through the waves to a horror film music, of huge jaws wide open and ready to swallow. Yet it is us humans who are putting its survival, as well as that of the entire planet, at risk. Every year, between 63 and 273 million sharks are killed by humans, just for money. Many of them are killed by ‘finning’, that is, they are deprived of their fins and thrown alive into the sea where they drown after a terrible agony.

In this new title of the series produced by #logosedizioni in collaboration with Sea Shepherd, Geert Vons reveals how cruelly sharks are slaughtered to satisfy the demand for their meat, liver oil, cartilage and fins, which are used to prepare the famous Chinese soup.
